That switches the game to flat screen where you can do the hack, then go back to VR. If you want to hack a terminal or use an air vent control on a station or capital ship you have to take off your headset. There's one significant game play difference.in VR - hacking terminals can't be done as you don't get the UI and they're not interactive.

There's another mod called "never enter stations again" which allows you to interact with all station npcs as if you were docked but I haven't tried it yet. Because the vr version has far fewer npcs it's a pain waiting for the smalltalk prompt. The mod that enables smalltalk on all npcs so you can get trade agents. Without this you can't easily reach terminals to hack them It can be installed on its own and allows access to the station interiors.

There are a couple of mods which I've found essential because of changes in the way the game works in VR.
I tried it but I got a lot of stutter so I'm currently playing a vanilla free play game. If you want the actual story campaign then you'll need the "vanilla recall" mod. The campaign that comes with the vr game is really just a tutorial. in the X Universe - the biggest sandbox this side of the galaxy.I'm about 35 hours in. Land on stations, meet people, then accept missions from them or hire them as crew members for your ships.
